Message from Conference Organising Committee

The proud tradition of an annual, Australian-based, high quality entrepreneurship research meeting continues! What Professor Murray Gillin and Swinburne University pioneered will for the next five years be organized and further developed by the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship (ACE) at QUT Business School under the new name ACERE - the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research Exchange.

The 2012 meeting is particularly interesting - and expected to be somewhat larger in numbers - because it is organized jointly with the DIANA Conference (the world's leading conference on women's entrepreneurship). Participants with an interest in either event will have full access to all activities on the joint program.

The 2012 meeting will also be the first held in Western Australia, more precisely in lovely Fremantle, on the coast just 20 minutes from Perth.

We wish you a hearty welcome to a great conference experience at ACERE-DIANA in Fremantle in February 2012!

About the Conference

We encourage the presentation of empirical and conceptual papers on any aspect of entrepreneurship understood as the creation of new economic activity and/or as the founding and management of independent ventures. Papers will be grouped into thematic sessions, one of which will be the DIANA track(s) on entrepreneurship and gender. Other likely tracks include but are not limited to new venture creation; corporate entrepreneurship; social entrepreneurship; resourcing new ventures, and entrepreneurship theory.

Key Events

  • Welcome Reception;
  • Three Day Technical Programme;
  • Doctoral Consortium
  • Conference Dinner; and
  • Social Cocktail Function.

Who Should Attend?

The Conference will be of interest to researchers and research students (from any country) who are interested in entrepreneurship and related topics such as innovation and small business management, as well as policy makers and other reflective practitioners who have a strong interest in research-based knowledge about entrepreneurship.
